More about the product
Lacerta RSRQ control multiple instruments at the same time. You can use it in nature, sports or portrait photography, even in astronomy and microscopy.
Maybe you have never thought about the unimagined
possibilities in your equipment?
- Astrophotographers who use
several instruments on one mount at the same time
- 3D stereo recordings when
microscoping, or even during Brownian motion
- if an event is to take
place from different angles and / or distances, but at exactly the same time,
- Sync multiple flashes with
(multiple) cameras.
If several cameras are to synchronize exposure
The "cheap solution" with a Y-cable is
more than dangerous. The fact that the recordings are not necessarily
synchronized and that valuable time is lost is only the lesser evil. A Y cable
connects the various instruments galvanically. In plain language, if two
cameras do not have identical trigger signal levels, a software crash or, in
the worst case, hardware damage can result. And who has the time and opportunity to google,
download and reinstall the camera software during a photo shoot, a laboratory
experiment or a night-time astrophotography series ...?
Galvanically decoupled
Our remote shutter control unit (operated by 12V)
multiplies the input signals by an OPTO COUPLER to four galvanically isolated
output signals. Would you like some examples?
- a photocell remote control
at the emergency exit triggers two cameras and two flash units at the same time
- A sports photographer can
trigger a further 3 slave cameras with a master camera and thus immortalize the
event at different angles at the same time
- An infinite number of
applications are possible in the art scene, from portrait photography to
performance documentation
- For Gigapano recordings,
simultaneous recordings can be triggered in several directions. No longer with
time-delay effects (double-photographed moving objects, e.g. dogs with 6 legs
or people with two heads)
- Stereo or 3D timelapse
recordings can be easily synchronized, both in the micro and the macro world.
- Astrophotographers can use
the MGEN exposure signals to control two astro cameras and two motor focus
asynchronously.
In summary: no matter what is done manually with a
slave instrument, because of the optocoupler, the other slave instruments
continue to receive the signals from the master camera.
In addition, the 12 V voltage can also be forwarded because the Lacerta RSRQ has both a Power IN and a Power OUT socket. In this way, the individual consumers can be tied in a row and thus fed with electricity (keyword: "cable spaghetti").
The RSRQ units can even be connected to each other. With two RSRQ you can control 7 instruments, with three RSRQ 10 instruments at the same time!
Inputs:
- 1x current (recommended 12V) through 5.5 / 2.1mm
plug (middle positive)
- 1x control signal by EOS-1000 compatible 2.5mm
stereo jack
Outputs:
- 1x current (same voltage is passed on as at the
input) through 5.5 / 2.1mm connector (middle positive)
- 4x control signal through 3.5mm stereo jack1x LED indicator light (function control)
CAUTION! Many camera release cables (e.g. Nikon) are only available with 2.5mm plugs, to use the Lacerta RSRQ you still need a 2.5-> 3.5mm adapter, this is available from electronics or photo retailers.
