SkyWatcher Startravel 102 AZ5

The SkyWatcher 102/500 refractor is recommended mostly for daytime use however it also can be used for observations of Moon and planets. The F/5 aperture tube's advantage is it's compact size which counts in portability. The objective lens is a two part system with full multi layer coating which gives a large and sharp field of view.

The azimuthal AZ5 tripod is ideal for environmental, panoramic or even astronomical use. The attached telescope remains in balanced postion so it can be easily fixed in every porition from Horizon up to Zenith. The arm can be fixed in more positions regarding to the observation's needs.

The precisional movements can be made with the flexible arms which allows small panning on the selected objects.

The scope is attached with regular dovetails, so it is removeable without tools.

A 45 degree Amici prism is included for helping daytime use. The recommended magnification range is between 15-120x. Since the forcuser's size is 2", this range is usable also with optional 2" eyepieces.

The focuser ends up in T2 thread allowing this instrument used as a 500mm lens on a DLSR (optional bayonet adapter is needed).
