SkyWatcher 114/500 Newton on AZ4 mount

Small, but versatile telescope. Start observing the Moon, the planets or some deep-sky object with this scope.  The popular 114mm fast telescope is an ideal beginner's telescope.  Contains a parabolic main mirror to ensure the maximum magnification of about 180x. The parabolic mirror gathers lots of light so even fainter deep-sky objects can be observer from under dark skies. The mirror's quality makes the scope excellent for lunar and planetary observing as well. The scope is lightweight and compact, even children can easily operate it.

The AZ4 mount provides the flexibility that can be expected from an azimuthal mount, ideal for both astronomical and daytime use. Easy to carry, no counterweights are needed and is very robust.

The telescope mounted can be balanced easily. The flexible handles can removed and reattached on the other side, meaning that the mount can be used easily for both refracting and reflecting telescopes. The arm is tilted in 45 degrees, which makes it possible to observe objects around zenith even with instruments up to 180mm in diameter.
