SkyWatcher SkyMax 127 MC AZ5 mechanikán

The SkyWatcher SkyMax 127/1500 MC AZ5 is a compact Maksutov system which means that despite of the long focus the tube is short. Basically it's made for astronomical use however it suits the daytime needs also. With the included Amici prism it gives an upright image. The AZ5 mount is stable enough to fix this tube in every positions.

The SkyWatcher SkyMax 127MC is a really compact sized model which shows great details on planets. The short tube makes easy to transport. This telescope has 127 mm aperture, which is more powerful than the 90 mm or 102 mm models. The central obstruction is 30% only, resulting in contrasty image even at high magnifications. Compared to similar aperture telescopes (eg. Explorer 130 models) this Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope is much shorter and weights less meaning that it is easier to transport, however the central obstruction makes the image a bit less contrasty. The recommended magnification range is 37.5x-260x and provides sharp images on Moon and planets. Dovetail plate is included but there's a standard photo thread at the bottom of the scope as well. The two eyepieces provided deliver 60x and 150x magnification. A Starpointer or an achromatic 6x30 spring load finderscope is included (depending on the model). The focuser has a T2 thread making it possible to mount cameras as well.

The AZ5 azimuthal mount is an easy-to-use, very practical unit. It is good for both terrestrial and astronomical use. It offers much easier setup procedure than the equatorial models and also much easier to use, since there is no balancing problem, no counterweight, and it moves horizontally and vertically. The attached telescope remains in balanced postion so it can be easily fixed in every position from Horizon up to Zenith. The arm can be fixed in several positions regarding to the observer's needs. With the two slow motion controls we can make precise fine adjustment in order to center and track the objects, even at high magnification.
