Ringed sundial

This model is also called the queen of sundials, as the local time can be determined even without knowing the north direction. Its construction also helps to understand the celestial coordinate system. This replica is available as one made of brass or made of paper. The replica is an excellent gift as well. The local time can be determined up to 5 minutes of precision.

Sundial of Regiomontanus

Despite this one is made of paper this is one of the most innovative and previse model ever made. The sundial shows both the local time and the altitude of the Sun. Can be used everywhere in Europe (works between the latitudes of Oslo and Cairo). The model was made based on the one made by Regiomontanus, astronomer of king Mathias in the 15th century.

Nautical sundials

These sundials are in fact two instruments in one: sundial and compass. Using the compass the north direction can be determined easilty, and after that the local time can read from the sundial. The simpler ones are pocket-sized, while larger ones are more sophisticated.

Pocket sundials

These sundials are practically the anchestors of the pocket watches. Couple of centuries ago when the mechanical watches weren't available these sundials were owned by weathly men. When opened, the local time can be determined very quickly. A built-in small compass helps to hold the sundial in the correct position.

Semmilyen használati utasítást nem tartalmaz a csomag, és a honlapon sem találtam hozzá leírást. Ez egy különleges óra, de leírás nélkül nem tudja használni az, akinek nem volt még a kezében hasonló.
