Polarscope for EQ3, EQM-35 and HEQ5 mounts (newer version HM5)
These Sky-Watcher polar scopes are compatible with EQ-3 and EQ-5 mounts (and also with HEQ-5 and EQ-6, but those ones contain a polar scope). Using a polarscope is a must when taking astrophotos but can help a lot during visual observations as well.
The polar scope has to be mounted in the hole in the right ascension axis and then adjusted using a distant target: rotate the mount's head on its right ascension axis and check the reticle: the center should remain on the selected target. During nighttime target the mount so that Polaris can be seen at the proper place. The constellations on the reticle helps to find the correct position.
These polar scopes can be used on the southern hemisphere as well, thanks to the stars of constellation Octans.

The HM5 version is compatible with EQ-3, EQM-35 and HEQ5 mounts.
The HM6 version is compatible with EQ-5 and EQ-6 mounts.

Kalibrálása nagyon körülményes, sötétben majdnem használhatatlan.
Summary
Eddig 3 alkalommal használtam EQ3 mechanikán, először nem tűnt fel, hogy kalibrálni kell. Sajnos kellett. Nagyon nem volt párhuzamos az RA tengellyel. A kalibrálása a 3 db mini imbuszcsavarral szerintem nagyon körülményes, ráadásul szerintem kicsit a menetet is kiserült elbarmolnom. Hosszas próbálkozás után sikerült egy elfogadható kalibrálás, amivel jó pólusraállás után 25-30 másodperces expot sikerült elérnem. Ha nagyon ki van lazítva az állítócsavar, akkor a jelöléseket tartalmazó lencsetag leesik/elmozdul, de azt az "okulár" lencsetag tövig betekerésével vissza lehet állítani a megfelelő helyre, majd újra rögzíteni a csavarokkal. Sötétben az osztás nem látszik, én kézzel világítottam be egy vörös fénnyel, hogy lássam az osztásokat és a Polarist is, érdemes vásárolni szerintem egy Pólustávcső megvilágító egységet. Ha a kalibrálás és plussz fény megvan, akkor szerintem jól használható eszköz.
