Lacerta Dual temperature controll automat

On clear nights, telescopes cool down very much due to radiation.

As a result the increasing relative humidity, dew settles on the cool optics and tubes and can thus quickly stop observation or photography.

Especially for optics which have an exposed glass surface such as SC telescope, Makstutovs or Apos.

The dew is also appear on open optics such as Newton telescopes not only on the tube outside, but also on thze secondary and main mirror.

The dewing can lead to damage of electrical components.

Heating elements increase the temperature around the optics and thus reduce the risk of drowning.

However, these can provide the required heat output for increased tube-seeing or air turbulence in front of the telescope.

Likewise, they can provide different results for cold and warm nights, as a fixed heat output is generated regardless of the outside temperature.

A setting of the heating power by means of potentiometers often ends in the usual chaos in strongly fluctuating weather conditions.

All these problems are a thing of the past with the Lacerta dual automatic temperature controller.

The temperature sensor measures the outside temperature and the temperature of the heating also and  automatically adjustit to keep the tube or the optics a few degrees above ambient temperature. Through a potentiometer, a desired temperature difference between the heating cuff and the environment can be preset to the optimum level

to stop air turbulence.
