Castell 2 inch IR blocking Filter in low profile housing

Filters used for photography that block infrared light. Used for photographing planets and the Moon when there are no other IR block filters in the light path.

An IR block filter differs from a conventional UV/IR block filter in that UV light is somewhat transmitted (as far as the glass material allows). Their use is justified in the following cases:

- If, for example, you want to photograph Venus with a violet (W47) filter, or with a UV-transmitting filter specifically designed for Venus

- If your system is mirrorless and your camera does not have any IR blocking filter (for lens models, we strongly recommend the UV/IR blocker).
