Summary

I've been struggling with my Sirius (Orion version of the HEQ5 pro) ever since I upgraded the worm/worm gear for RA some years back. No matter how I tune the RA gear mesh I had to keep some amount of backlash otherwise it would bind; when comes to use it on the field I found the mount is bumpy or rough, with my Borg 45ED I can only do ~600s subs. Then I found this product (and another one as the Worm) for HEQ5 pro here on tavsco.hu, and decided to try both. Immediately after installed them, this product here and the Worm on RA I noticed that I can reduce the RA backlash to almost zero with no binding at all! That was a very good sign. Later I made some test shots using QHY294M-pro (11mode) on AT6RC at prime focus (1370mm), and I can do 1800-second subs both before and after meridian flip! I've uploaded 2 images both are 7x1800s total exposure. I'm very happy with my purchase and thank you tavcso.hu for providing this 'simple' but crucial product!
