SkyWatcher Evostar-120 (120/1000) refractor on HEQ5-GoTo mount

The 120 mm SkyWatcher Evostar refractor with 1000 mm focal length is a large refracting telescope with contrasty images and can be used to observe many different targets. The 120 mm objective lens is a Fraunhofer type objective lens which is fully multi coated on all surfaces. Provides 1" resolution and therefore can show fine details on the surface of the Moon and planets, even in the athmosphere of Jupiter and martian continents. Brighter globular clusters can be resolved to their stars but compact galaxies down to magnitude 12 can be observed. The rack and pinion focuser is 2" in size and accepts many 2" accessories. For example when using a 40 mm 2" eyepiece stellar fields and nebulae can be observed in fine details. Using a 2" deepsky filters nebulae can reveal even more details. A 9x50 spring load finderscpoe is included.

For solar observations Baader's solar filter is also available.

The Sky-Watcher HEQ Pro GoTo mount is a precision German Equatorial Mount, ideal for both visual observing and astrophotography. Equipped with stepper motors that can provide 800x sideral speed (3.4 degrees/sec) using the hand controller or a planetarium program running on the attached PC. The 1/64 microstepping provides smooth tracking, precise manufacturing and bearings results small backlash on both axes makes ideal for autoguiding. An autoguider port is also included (standard ST4). The guide correction speed can be adjusted between 0.125x and 1x.

GoTo controller:

This version features the latest SynScan GoTo hand controller. Its database contains more than 42900 object, including the complete Messier, NGC and IC catalgues, plus double and variable stars. The mount also provides a "guided tour" functionality to show all objects currently visible. The hand controller also helps to perform proper polar alignment. Voltage of the power source and the temperature can be also checked. For astrophotography the PEC helps in accurate tracking.

The hand controller firmware can be upgraded from the internet.

Requires 12V DC, that can be provided from a cigarette lighter or from a rechargeable battery.

It is available in set with the sturdy EQ5 mount on steel tripod or the better priced EQ3 mount on aluminium tripod. Both can be equipped with RA and declination motor drives, can be also purchased or a GoTo kit can be installed. The EQ3 mount is recommended for beinners, while the more robust EQ5 is for serious observers.
