SkyWatcher Evostar-120 (120/1000) refractor on EQ5 mount

The 120 mm SkyWatcher Evostar refractor with 1000 mm focal length is a large refracting telescope with contrasty images and can be used to observe many different targets. The 120 mm objective lens is a Fraunhofer type objective lens which is fully multi coated on all surfaces. Provides 1" resolution and therefore can show fine details on the surface of the Moon and planets, even in the athmosphere of Jupiter and martian continents. Brighter globular clusters can be resolved to their stars but compact galaxies down to magnitude 12 can be observed. The rack and pinion focuser is 2" in size and accepts many 2" accessories. For example when using a 40 mm 2" eyepiece stellar fields and nebulae can be observed in fine details. Using a 2" deepsky filters nebulae can reveal even more details. A 9x50 spring load finderscpoe is included.

The EQ5 mount comes with this package is a stable platform for this telescope. Both axes have slow motion knobs. A clock drive or dual axis motor drive can be purchased separately. A GoTo kit is also available with a database of 42900 objects. A polarscope can also be installed.

The tripod provide 45mm steel legs which make the mount very steady. The mount head weights 5kg, the tripod 5.7kg. 2 counterweights (5kg) included.

It is available in set with the sturdy EQ5 mount on steel tripod or the better priced EQ3 mount on aluminium tripod. Both can be equipped with RA and declination motor drives, can be also purchased or a GoTo kit can be installed. The EQ3 mount is recommended for beinners, while the more robust EQ5 is for serious observers.
