The Sky-Watcher 102/500 refracting telescope is the bigger alternative of the 80/400 (Horizont 80) telescope. Recommended mainly for daytime observations. The F/5 focal ratio results in a short tube and compact size. The objective lens is a Fraunhofer-type system with 2 elemens. The objective lens is fully multi coated and provides excellent and distortion free view. The AZ3 mount is stable and makes it possible to use the telescope for daytime observations as well as astronomical purposes, especially when observing large and faint objects, but of course can be used to observe Moons and planets in the magnification range of 15-200x. The rack and pinion focuser is made of metal and accepts 2" eyepieces and accessories. At 15x magnification the view of view is large, over 4,5 degrees, and is ideal for North America, Pelican-, Andromeda or Veil-nebula.

The T2 mount can be used to attach DSLR cameras with the proper adaptors, resulting in a 500mm telephoto lens. A Baader solar filter is also available.

Pros

Majdnem egy éve vagyok ennek a távcsőnek a tulajdonosa, egy AZ3-as mechanikán használom. Ár/érték arányban szerintem verhetetlen, aki nem csak csillagászatra használná, hanem földi megfigyelésre is, az csak jól járhat vele. Én mindkettőre szoktam használni, talán földi megfigyelésre valamivel többet, egy dslr géphez használom mint teleobjektív. Optikai minősége jó, sajnos egy kicsit színez, de rekeszeléssel ez javítható. Néhány ezzel a távcsővel készült képem, hogy kb. mit is tud az optika: http://szabobalint.blogspot.hu/2013/06/feketerigo-es-gyik-esete.html http://szabobalint.blogspot.hu/2013/02/madarak-kertben-2-resz.html Csillagászatban bolygózásra nem a legmegfelelőbb a rövid fókusz miatt, de a Jupitert, Vénuszt, Szaturnuszt így is hatalmas élmény megpillantani benne, valamint a Hold is lenyűgöző. Megfelelő égbolt alatt a halmazok is nagyon szépek benne.

Cons

Egyetlen hibája amit eddig tapasztaltam, az a színezése.

Summary

Aki egy jó ár/érték arányú mindenes távcsövet szeretne (csillagászat, földi megfigyelések, madarászat, repülők nézése) nem fog vele rosszul járni. Megfelelő adapterrel pedig dslr géphez csatlakoztatva kapunk egy 500 mm-es teleobjektívet. Kihuzata erős, nem lötyög, masszív kis távcső, szállítása sem nehézkes a mérete miatt.
