250/1200 SkyWatcher Newton on EQ5

The Explorer 254/1200mm Sky-Watcher PDS Newtonian reflector is a telescope for the serious amateur astronomer. The scope can be used with excellent results for both visual and imaging purposes. Visually stars down to magnitude 15 can be seen and shows details in galaxies and nebulae. The high quality optics can be used for lunar and planetary photography as well and can show incredible details of the surfaces. The 254mm main mirror has a theoretical resolving power less than 0.5".

Recommended for astrophotography as well. The 2" Dual speed Crayford focuser is excellent together with the F/4.7 mirror while the 1200mm focal length resolves fine details in deep sky objects. The 2" focuser can accept many photographic accessories (like coma corrector, etc).

The collimation can be done without any tools. (A collimation laser or collimating eyepiece is recommended)

While for visual observations the EQ-5 mount on steel tripod is sufficient, for photographic work the more robust HEQ-5 Pro or EQ-6 Pro mount is recommended.
