The Explorer 254/1200mm Sky-Watcher PDS Newtonian reflector is a telescope for the serious amateur astronomer. The scope can be used with excellent results for both visual and imaging purposes. Visually stars down to magnitude 15 can be seen and shows details in galaxies and nebulae. The high quality optics can be used for lunar and planetary photography as well and can show incredible details of the surfaces. The 254mm main mirror has a theoretical resolving power less than 0.5".
Recommended for astrophotography as well. The 2" Dual speed Crayford focuser is excellent together with the F/4.7 mirror while the 1200mm focal length resolves fine details in deep sky objects. The 2" focuser can accept many photographic accessories (like coma corrector, etc).
The collimation can be done without any tools. (A collimation laser or collimating eyepiece is recommended)
While for visual observations the EQ-5 mount on steel tripod is sufficient, for photographic work the more robust HEQ-5 Pro or EQ-6 Pro mount is recommended.
Accessories includes (in case of purchasing the telescope together with the mount):
- 2" Dual speed Crayford focuser (1:10 microfocuser)
- 9x50 achromatic spring load finderscope
- 28mm APEX eyepiece (43x)
- Tube rings, dovetail plate
For the GoTo version we highly recommend the Skywatcher Wi-Fi unit (SynScanWifi), with which you can control your telescope via smartphone or tablet. Just plug the Wi-Fi unit into the hand controller slot and download the free App (Android or iOS) - it is ready to use.

Nagyon nagy teljesítményű, fotografikus, és vizuális észlelésre is kiválóan alkalmas műszer. Felbontásban verhetetlen, és még egyszemélyes, valóban életre szóló távcső. Mély égre, és bolygózni is tökéletes.

Summary
Kiváló műszer, de érteni kell hozzá, a nagy fényerő miatt érzékeny a jusztírra, de ezt nem hátrányként írom, ez tulajdonsága az ilyen rendszereknek. Valóban életre szól, igazi nagybetűs FŐMŰSZER!!!!!!!!!!!!
