SkyWatcher Explorer-150PM (150/1000) Newtonian reflector on EQ3 mount

The Sky-Watcher Explorer 150PM, 150/1000 represents the focal length between the two popular models, the 150/750 fast telescope and the 150/1200 designed for planetary observations. In practice it means that it is easier to hand and transport than the 150/1200 model (the tube lenght is 20 cm shorter, below 1 meters). The central obstruction is somewhat smaller that of the 750 mm focal length version, resulting in more contrasty images.

This telescope gathers 33% more light than the 130/650 version. The scope contains aspheric F/6.7 primary mirror, well suitable for magnifications from 25x up to about 300x, from observing faint deep-sky objects to detailed views of the lunar craters and for photographic observations. The tube length is 96 cm. The package contains an achromatic 6x30 finderscope with SpringLoad base and two Barium eyepieces (10mm and 25mm) for 40x and 100x magnifications. Optional eyepieces can be purchased to cover the whole magnification range. The secondary spider vanes are only 0,5mm thick improving the image contrast.

The telescope comes with an 1.25" rack and pinion focuses, providing very fine adjustments.

The EQ3 mount provides manual fine movement and can be equipped later with many accessories (clock drive, GoTo functionality, polar scope, etc). Standard photo thread can be found on the tube rings to support piggyback photography.
