SkyWatcher Skymax-150 Maksutov-Cassegrain (150/1800) on EQ5 mount

This 150/1800 MC an excellent and compact sized travelscope with large aperture. It has 2" focuser, so the lowest magnification with an 2" 50mm eyepiece is 36x with over 1,5 degree field, so it can be use for wide field deepsky observations too. Due to its high optical quality, long focal length and small central obstruction (47mm, 31%) it is ideal for high magnifications to observe the Moon, planets or double stars. Maximum magnification is 350-400x under perfect conditions. The tube is closed and thus it is free from turbulences and dust.

Can be used for astrophotography as well, details on Moon and planets can be captured. Because of the long focal length deepsky astrophotography capabilities are limited.

The EQ5 mount comes with this package is a stable platform for this telescope. Both axes have slow motion knobs. A clock drive or dual axis motor drive can be purchased separately. A GoTo kit is also available with a database of 42900 objects. A polarscope can also be installed.

The tripod provide 45mm steel legs which make the mount very steady. The mount head weights 5kg, the tripod 5.7kg. 2 counterweights (5kg) included.
