LACool - the suction fan on the telescope

The suction fan can be flexibly adapted to almost every Newton in order to extract (warm) air from the main mirror side.

For this purpose, the flexible fan collar is mounted on the end (primary mirror) of the Newtonian and can then be put into operation.

The advantages of the system:

- flexible mounting on almost every Newton of the right size
- warm air is extracted, the temperature is set much faster
- Tube seeing is reduced (sun, moon and planet photography!) Because the air is forced into a laminar flow! (Down-regulate with optional controller so that no resonances occur)
- Protection against stray light from below onto the main mirror
