Equatorial Solar Clock Astronomical Ring

Belongs to the so-called Equatorial Solar Quadrant of universal type. Its history goes back to the XVIII century, when its use was generalized.  

It consists of an adjustable ring for various latitudes, a meridian ring with the latitude scale, a folding hour ring and a slotted central ruler, with the graduation of the months, on which a small perforated cylinder moves. The time obtained is the local solar time.
