Last but not least the sound of the mounts will be quite different, during fast moving the rattle-rattle sound completely eliminated. Highly recommended for serious astrophotographers!

The EQ6 set includes two pairs of special gears and two belt sizes required. After the mod the original SkyWatcher GoTo electronics can be use.

The HEQ5 set, includes two pairs of special gears two belt sizes required and an additional plastic mod for the motor cover. After the mod the original SkyWatcher GoTo electronics can be use.
Attention! Installation is not an easy task, but can be made at home with some experience and skill. Disassembling the EQ6 mount may requires some special tool, and have to make some small modification as well. Therefore we strongly recommend to do the modification with sophisticated specialist.
Please note that with home modification the original warranty of the mount will be lost.
We can do the installation with a professional installer, then the warranty will not affected. Please contact us.

Pros

Érezhetően pontosabb lett a rendszer, stabilan 1" alatt tud maradni a vezetési hiba még nem túl jó ég alatt is.

Cons

A távtartó ami az eredeti burkolatot hivatott eltartani a bordáskerekektől az lehetne 2-3 mm-rel vastagabb. Sajnos erre nem figyeltem a beszereléskor, a fedlap hozzáért az RA bordáskerekéhez, ami elkezdett szorulni és "ledarálta" a szíjat. A szíjat cseréltem (ugyan olyanra, kb. 3-4 ezer HUF), a távtartó alá tettem kb. 3 mm extra gumilapot (emiatt a csavarokat hosszabbra kellett cserélnem) és így már tökéletesen működik. Nem kizárt, hogy ha nem húzom meg annyira a fedlap tartó csavarokat akkor nem lett volna ilyen gond.

Summary

Szerintem nagyon megéri a módosítás, csak ajánlani tudom! Megfelelő eszközökkel (és odafigyelve arra amit írtam) elvégezhető otthon is a módosítás, de ha valaki biztosra akar menni akkor érdemes kérni a boltot, hogy csinálják meg a módosítást.
