If you want a more powerful finder scope, this 60 mm model is a great choice. The bright (around F/4) acromatic lens has a built-in 90-degree Amici prism with a helical focus adjustment. The focuser is standard, 1.25" in diameter, so that any eyepiece of this size can be fitted into it, allowing the magnification to be varied as desired. You can also insert a pinhole eyepiece or even a normal eyepiece. With a focus of 234mm, you can get 10x magnification with a 23mm cross-hair eyepiece and 19x magnification with a 12.5mm cross-hair eyepiece. At low magnifications, it's worth using it with a large field of view, because the high brightness of the system makes the image softer at high magnification and the colour aberration is relatively strong.

The short, compact tubes, painted white, are supplied with a pair of guide rings and a standard foot for fitting the telescope into the main instrument's viewfinder. The ring pair screws allow the two instruments to be precisely paralleled.

Due to its size, it is also ideal for use as a travel binocular, but you may need a separate adapter to mount it on the mechanics, which is not included in the kit.

The set comes in a moulded foam lined cardboard box.

Summary

Egy hosszú tubusú (1200-as) akromáttal észlelek, amit ha zenit irányába fordítok, képtelenség egy hagyományos keresővel használni. Kimondottan derék-kímélő megoldás, hogy nem kell a távcső alatt görnyedni kereséskor. A nagy objektív és az 1.25"-os kihuzat tág határokat ad különböző konfigurációk használatához. És az egyenes állású kép is kényelmes használatot biztosít. Tükrös távcsövem nincs, ezért vele kapcsolatos tapasztalatom nincs, de talán ott sem hátrány, hogy nem kell a tubust ölelgetni, meg "ráfeküdni" kereséskor.
