DeepSkyPro2600 26MP (IMX571 back-illuminated) APS-C cooled astrocamera
More about the product
The new, sensational SONY EXMOR IMX571 chip was installed here, which has ideal properties for astrophotography:
- extreme sensitivity thanks to the backside illumination technology
- very low readout noise of 0.7-3.5 e- (depending on the set gain)
- very low dark current of 0.0005e (per pixel and second, at -20 °C)
- no more visible amplifier glow - clean raw images
- native 16 bit A / D converter high fullwell capacity of the pixels - fewer burned-out stars
Sensor specification IMX571:
- Pixel size 3.76x3.76 µm
- Sensor size 23.48x15.67mm, 6224x4168 pixels, 26MP
- Exposure times 0.1ms to 3600s
- Bayer matrix RGGB
- Binning modes 1x1, 2x2, 3x3
- Readout speeds 6.8fps@6224x4168 (16bit), 14fps @ 6224x4168, 37fps @ 3104x2048, 110fps2064x1388
The manufacturer Touptek has long been a trusted partner for microscope cameras and supplies sophisticated software and drivers. The camera has built in very good electronics, which fully bring the advantages of the sensor into the picture.
Camera features:
Gain and offset can be set separately in order to be prepared for both high dynamics and the lowest readout noise with short exposure. We recommend Gain Zero and Offset 100 as the basic setting, plus LowConversionGain for maximum dynamics, and HighConversionGain for high sensitivity with little loss of dynamics.
The 2-stage adjustable Peltier cooling is designed to be powerful enough to really cool a full 42 degrees below the surrounding area - enough even for hot summer nights.
A window heater is installed, good on damp autumn nights so that the camera window does not fog up.
An external desiccant cartridge can be attached to draw moisture out of the sealed camera housing.
On the back of the camera there are red LEDs for status display, and a USB hub with 2 USB2 ports, in addition to the USB3 camera connection.
IRcut filter installed in the camera window
Connection T2 internal thread with back focus to the sensor 17.5mm
Our side-by-side tests with other cameras using the IMX571 show the excellent quality of the DSPro2600.
The connection with APT, SharpCap and other control programs is easy with the Ascom driver.
The included program ToupSky offers extensive functionalities and is also ideal for planetary recordings, it can also display raw images pre-debayered with correct colors (white balance).
The drivers are installed with the ToupSky software, please download the newest Ascom and DirectShow drivers
Drying process to prevent the sensor from icing up: the desiccant are small silica gel beads in a small tube (included)
you carefully pull off the stubble at the back (otherwise the balls will roll out) and put them in a small paper boat
the paper boat with the beads is placed in the microwave and baked for 4 x 30 seconds
then return with the pellets into the tube and screw it onto the camera (where it says: do not open).
leave the whole thing for a day - you can also plug in the camera and read it out so that it gets a little warm and the moisture evaporates better (but not cool!).
Immediately after unscrewing, close the camera with the seal on the screw.
