T2/T2 projection adaptor and extender 50mm (CA)

This way the eyepiece projects the image created by the objective lens or mirror onto the image sensor magnifying the celestial object even further.

A short step-by-step guide to eyepiece projection photography:

- make sure that the focuser has a T2 thread. (if not, another adaptor might be needed)

- the eyepiece projection adaptor connects to this T2 thread. Inside the adaptor an eyepiece has to be located, so make sure that the eyepiece (without the eyepiece rubber) fits into the adaptor (most of the Plossl eyepieces will fit, except for the ones with longer focal lengths). The magnification factor depends on the eyepiece focal length and the distance between the eyepiece and the camera. Using eyepieces with shorter focal lengths and/or increasing the distance between the eyepiece and the camera increases the magnification. To increase the distance even further a T2-T2 extension tube might be needed or the adjustable length projection adaptor can perform well.

- on the other end the adaptor has a T2 thread, this can be used to connect another adaptor depending on the imaging device. The device might be a DSLR, a planetary camera or a simple webcamera. Please note that compact digital cameras cannot be used for eyepiece projection.

Variable length projection adapter kit:

The kit contains 3 parts. Instead of using different sized extension tubes, the part containing the eyepiece itself can slide inside another part, meaning that the projection (magnification) factor can be adjusted smoothly. To find the proper magnification is extremely important in case of planetary photography. The exact magnification depends on many factors, including the pixel size of the camera, the telescope resolution and weather conditions. The best results can be achieved if a point defined by the available resolution falls on 2-3 pixels.

The first part fits into a standard 1.25\" focuser. The part containing the eyepiece is screwed to this adaptor. The third part that can be moved inwards and outwards has a T2 thread that can be used to connect a DSLR, or other imaging devices with a proper adaptor.
