Baader ContrastBooster (2")

Enhancing the contrast is often needed without loosing too much incoming light. In most of the cases the light pollution or the color aberration is the source of the problem. These filters might help to solve the issue.

Kontrastbooster: a popular and versatile contrast enhancer filter. The filter consist of 30 different layers (7+23). Excellent for f/7-f/10 Fraunhofer refractors and as a general planetary filter (recommended for Mars, Jupiter\'s bands and Saturn\'s rings).

Fringe killer: when true colors of the planets is preferred, instead of the Kontrastbooster the Fringe Killer might be the ideal choice. This filter does not block to that extend and provides more realistic colors. A general purpose filter for both visual and CCD-photography work. According to the experiences above 12cm diameter the Kontrastbooster is recommended, while below that limit the Fringe Killer performs better.

Semi-apo: the newest semi-apo filter is based on William Optics\' Violet-Reduction filter. The image is much less yellowish (like in case of Fringe Killer or Kontrastbooster).

Solar Continuum: This filter was designed for solar observations. Instead of observing the H-alpha regions it is recommended to observe the granulation and fine structures in the sunspots. Highly recommended for achromatic refractors but performs well in any other types.
